1. Audio-visual Materials / Equipment 1.1 Reservation Service a. All audio-visual materials and equipment can be reserved. Member can make reservation within 30 days and only 1 reservation for each item is allowed at any period of time. Member cannot make reservation on his loan-out items.
b. Reservation by Fax: Member is required to complete and fax the "Application Form for Loan/ Renewal of Resource Materials" to FLERC. Upon the confirmation from FLERC, the member should collect the reserved item(s) on time with the confirmed form and valid FLERC membership card either in person or by a consignee.
c. Reservation on the Web: Member can reserve the resource materials on the Web (flerc.swd.gov.hk). For successful reservation, the member is required to print and bring the "Reservation Record" with valid FLERC membership card to collect the reserved item(s) on time either in person or by a consignee.
d. Member is required to collect the reserved item(s) within the first 2 working days of the loan period. The reservation will be revoked if the member does not collect the item(s) within the designated period.
1.2 Walk-in Borrowing Member can walk-in to borrow resource materials with valid FLERC membership card provided that no reservation has been made for those items.
2. Books 2.1 There is no reservation service for book borrowing. Member is required to present valid FLERC membership card for book borrowing and library visitation.
2.2 Members can read research reports, periodicals and other reference materials in FLERC's library. These materials are not for loan.
3. Renewal Procedure 3.1 Renewal by Fax : Member is required to complete and fax the "Application Form for Loan/ Renewal of Resource Materials" to FLERC from the second loan-out day to the due day. The renewal is completed with the confirmation from FLERC. Renewal is allowed provided that there is no other reservation made on the loaned item(s). Member has to return the loaned item(s) on the due day if the renewal is unsuccessful.
3.2 Renewal on the Web: Member can also renew the loaned item(s) on the Web (flerc.swd.gov.hk) from the second loan-out day to the due day. Member has to return the loaned item(s) on the due day if the renewal is unsuccessful.
3.3 Walk-in Renewal: Member is required to bring along the loaned item(s) with valid FLERC membership card to do the renewal from the second loan-out day to the due day, either in person or by a consignee.
4. Member should check all the loaned item(s) before checking- out.Once the resource materials are loaned out, the borrower bears full responsibility for the proper keeping and usage of the loaned item(s). In case of any damage or loss of loaned item(s), borrower has to pay for the repair or replacement fees incurred.
5. Member should return all the loaned item(s) to FLERC on or before the due date. If member has (a)15 items overdue; or(b) any item overdue for over 14 days, his/her membership will be immediately invalid and frozen for another 90 days starting from the return of the last overdue item(s).
6. Unless there is/ are valid reason(s), FLERC has the right to reject future loan requests if member repeatedly damages or fails to return the loaned item(s) on time.
7. All loaned item(s) should ONLY be used in NON-PROFIT- MAKING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES.
8. Without the permission of FLERC, no duplication of FLERC resources is allowed.
